15.000 m³ cold room for garlic and onions storage with 13 compact equipment

Important and successful project in the municipality of Barrax, near Albacete, carried out and put into operation at the beginning of 2022 by a great installer from La Mancha who deeply knows our how great our compact equipment are. The FERROICE company is dedicated to the conservation of garlic, onions and other agricultural products in cold rooms with a total storage capacity of more than 90 million kilos. It is a single cold room with a total area of approximately 1,967 m² and about 14,700 m³ for the conservation of garlic and onions in optimal conditions. The installation consists of 13 compact autonomous units model GPM-30 with Bitzer brand compressors, with a refrigeration production at a rate of about 520 kW and governed by Eliwell controllers. All equipment incorporates our excellent hot gas defrosting system, which is fast and efficient.

The installation and commissioning of the 13 equipment was undertaken in record time. In addition, these equipment require a low refrigerant charge and minimal and easy maintenance.

It is not the first camera that the company FERROICE equips with our equipment, since years ago it carried out other projects in which it also opted for the GREENFRÍO solution and technology. The reliability, quality and performance of our equipment is confirmed when years later, the same company decides to install the same equipment so that it is possibly the largest conservation cold room in which the refrigeration needs have been solved with compact refrigeration units.
